The Picnic Bench Project is a nonprofit initiative blending environmental stewardship, art, and community engagement by creating sculptural, fully functional picnic benches placed along public hiking trails. Each bench serves not only as a resting point for hikers, adventurers, and nature lovers but also as an interactive symbol of connection with the outdoors. Inspired by the spirit of exploration, the project encourages people to embark on a modern-day treasure hunt, seeking out these unique installations. Each bench is crafted with purpose. Embedded with a QR code, patrons are invited to donate to causes that align with the materials used to create the bench. Our inaugural collection, set to debut in the fall of 2025, will focus on recycled ocean plastics. These benches will stand as both a reminder of our environmental impact and a call to action—directly supporting nonprofits dedicated to ocean and environmental conservation. Through The Picnic Bench Project, we aim to foster community, adventure, and a deeper connection with nature. Every bench is a place to gather, reflect, and contribute to the well-being of our planet and its communities, turning moments of rest into moments of impact.
